The most important meal of the day is definetly breakfast. The expression "eat breakfast as a king, lunch as a prince and dinner as a beggar" is very write. Unfortunately, our lifestyles don't allow us to have enough time to eat in the morning. Very often we end up doing the opposite, we eat almost nothing in the morning and too much the evening. Some times this late meal is too late and too heavy to digest properly. Having as a result too many extra pounds. Here is what I call a weightloss breakfast. It prevents illnesses like diabetes and inflammatory deseases boosting your inmune system.
Appart of not eating much in the morning, it's a big mistake to take a sweet breakfast.
Let me explain : A morning meal based on ultra-refined white flour, marmalade, honey, chocolate or a bowl of cereals with or without fruits will create a dysfonction of the sugar in your blood (I am not only talking about hypoglycemia).
This means that our levels of blood sugar will dramaticaly decrease every two hours. Then, we have sugar cravings, addiction to coffe and an urge to eat something every two hours to compensate our lack of energy.
In order to stop the vicious cycle, we must intake a high protein savory breakfast with a portion of healthy fat and some carbohydrates (flour, fruits, others).
What happens in our body when we take a high protein savory breakfast ? First, we give to the body enough energy to work 6 hours in a row. No need to take more coffe, or sugar, or eating between meals and we're not starving to death after 17h. Then, we give to the body the time it needs to digest without intereption between meals. Like this our glycemia (blood sugar levels) and insulin levels stay stable.
Vegetal or animal protein give un this long lasting energy, vegetal oil or butter give us as well energy and play a role in keeping sugar blood levels normal (coming from bread, honey, fruits intake).
Is there a perfect weightloss breakfast ? I am going to give you some ideas that you can personalize :
Hard or poached egg on a salmon slice/ cheese or houmous, sourdough bread and avocado with home made sprouts.

Arepa, this typical venezuelan and colombian breakfast is made of pre-cooked corn flour (gluten free). It's like a sandwich filled with proteins. It takes some time to prepare it, you can only eat it hot and you can't reheat it. However, you can prepare the dough in advance and leave it in the fridge to cook it in the morning.

For vegans, my favorite : libanese foul, masterpiece of libanese cuisine made of beans. You need to prepare it in advance or keep it for a Sunday brunch. If the garlic is too much for you then just don't add it.

Miso soup and japanese breakfast. Traditionally, japanese people take a meal based on miso soup, rice and some cold fish or hard egg. Simple and perfect. Rice can be replaced with quinoa for diabetics.

I have other ideas but I am going to leave it here. For the above recipes, here you have some links.
Bonne appétit.
